The sexual assault program and general crisis hotline, staffed with professionals, para-professionals, and community volunteers, provides service to victims of sexual assault.  The YWCA is committed to ending sexual victimization and assisting the healing of people affected by rape, sexual assault, child sexual abuse, and sexual harassment.

The sexual assault program offers many services, including:

  • A 24-hour anonymous hotline
  • Crisis intervention and on-going counseling for adults, children and families
  • Accompaniment for sexual assault victims to a hospital or other medical provider
  • Legal accompaniment
  • Information and referrals to other agencies and resources to assist with issues arising from a sexual assault
  • Education about sexual assault, rape prevention, and more (available for schools, professionals, community groups, businesses, and private individuals)
  • Volunteer opportunities for community members interested in supporting the sexual assault program, including answering the hotline and medical accompaniment

The hotline is answered 24 hours a day for community members in crisis.  The hotline provides crisis intervention and information and referral services.
