Before a crisis occurs, MAKE A SAFETY PLAN
Stash some cash, spare keys, prescriptions
Apparel for you and your children
Financial records, bank books, important papers
Escape plan (police, motel, friends, SHELTER)
Telephone numbers for help
You deserve to be safe
Learn about the local resources BEFORE you need them.
Plan a safe place for your children, reassure them that their job is to stay safe, not to protect you.
Arrange a signal with a neighbor to call police if you are in danger.
Go to a hospital emergency room if you are hurt and ask them to document your injuries.
If you see the warning signs that may signal a violent episode, PUT YOUR PLAN INTO ACTION.
To create a detailed safety plan call the Domestic Violence Hotline, 24/7, 410.222.6800. Confidential.
