leadership development

The YWCA has developed women's leadership since its inception over 150 years ago.  Girls in clubs and women on committees learn how to run a meeting, the importance of an agenda to keep the meeting on track, and how to give voice to all the participants.  Women became managers of multi-million YWCA corporations.  Women trained by the YWCA have gone on to assume community roles -- on school boards, city councils, and state senates.

The YWCA Annapolis and Anne Arundel County has earned a reputation as a leader: developing innovative and pioneering programs and servicespromoting women's achievement in government and businessassisting women and families to lead safe and productive livesadvancing families' economic self-sufficiencysupporting better parenting skillsencouraging healthier and more informed adults and children; and advocating for legislative and public policy issues which will make the community a better place for all its members.
